Location
Planning area was located in North West of Turkey and Çatalca Kocaeli section of the Marmara Region, İstanbul province, Şile District including Alacalı, Doğancılı and Sahilköy neighborhoods. Planning area is 14 km away from Şile town center and the area connecting with D-025 (Şile-İstanbul Highway), O-6, O-2 and O-1 connection ways.
Structure of Land
Planning area was prepared by General Directorate of Disaster Affairs, according to Turkey Earthquake Zones Map is located in the Istanbul Provincial Earthquake Belt 2nd Degree. In addition, there are “UA-2: Areas Suitable for Settlement”, “PA-5.1: Areas that can be Prevented in terms of Engineering Problems “ and “AJE: Areas requiring Detailed Geological Survey” The active streams in the planning area are those are located outside the Darlık Baraj Lake Basin. The streams in the northwest of Şile an they are pouring into the Black Sea. Rivers which have dried up constitute threshold of the plan.
Design Principles
- Protection of forest areas based on limits specified in the opinion of the official institution,
- Priority protection of historical and cultural conservation structures while making decisions in the field of planning
- Improving physical / spatial, economic and social conditions in existing housing areas, establishment of relations between irregular and uncontrolled developing areas with whole city, once more again, healthy way, evaluating the working and housing relations
- Development in residential areas preventing the opening of large-scale residential areas and prevention multi-storey buildings developing against rural structure,
- Creating employment accordance with the natural, social and traditional structure which can provide economic income for rural people in order to ensure a balanced distribution of the population
- Improving quality of life and facilitating access to social services by creating necessary and sufficient amounts rural urban equipment areas terms of quantity and quality
- Increase employment rate service sector by developing tourism sector and will continuously contribute regional economy and social life without damaging the environment, society, historical, natural and cultural assets
